Getting to photograph this Queen for a second time was such a gift! The first time we worked together, I remember how nervous she felt stepping in front of the camera, but the way she lit up once she started seeing herself the way I saw her was unforgettable.
This time around, it felt like coming full circle. She walked in with this energy of self-assurance, ready to celebrate not just her birthday but everything she’s worked so hard for over the last few years! What makes her sessions so special is the intention behind them. There was so much laughter and connection in the room, and honestly, it just felt like spending time with an old friend who happens to radiate Queen energy! I'm so grateful to have gotten the chance to work with her again!

Have you ever done a boudoir shoot before? If so, how does your shoot with Quinn compare to your prior experience?
This is my second boudoir shoot and my second time working with Quinn. I researched boudoir photographers intently before my first shoot, and there wasn’t anyone else I would trust to do my photos. I was more excited and maybe even more nervous the second time; my body had changed a lot (again). I knew that my photos and experience would be AMAZING in Quinn's hands! I was ecstatic that Jessica would be doing my makeup as she is so talented in enhancing every Queen's beauty!
This experience was as expected, fun and empowering. I am not normally comfortable in front of the camera (always weird faces and a thousand takes), but I was comfortable the entire time. Quinn is a professional and knows exactly how to pose you for the best pictures! She adds fun and light to the experience. She radiates Queen power and brings it out in her clients.
Why did you do your boudoir shoot?
This time, I did the shoot for me. Last time, I wanted to surprise my husband, and he loved the gift; he was very proud of me, as a partner should be. I still did a couple of poses just for him, but I wanted to celebrate my hard work of 5 years and my age, my final year in my 40s! I turned 49 the next day after my shoot. I am more confident in who I am. It’s taken a lot of work and determination to become this healthy.
Additionally, I did my session because I want my daughter to see me empowered, enjoying, and celebrating my hard work. I want her to see that all bodies are beautiful. I want her to see it is okay to step outside of your comfort zone. Pushing yourself to be a bit uncomfortable and try new things will have good results. I wanted to empower myself, my daughter, friends and family. Women are notoriously hard on themselves, their own worst critics, but they need to see how beautiful they truly are!
What was your favourite part of the session?
It’s hard to pick one favourite moment. There was laughter and sharing with Quinn and Jessica. It always surprises me how comfortable you become in your underwear (or without underwear). It’s the feeling of accomplishment and possibilities wrapped up in a freedom bow!
What did doing this shoot do for your self-confidence, self-worth, and self-image? Tell me your story.
I had a bit of self-doubt before going into my shoot both times. My first session with Quinn, I had lost over 78 lbs and was lacking a bit of confidence in my body and how it would photograph. The second time, I was more confident in the outcome, but a bit nervous about the newest changes to my body and how others would respond again.
The boudoir experience erased the nervousness. It helped me celebrate myself. It’s no secret that after my 91.5lb weight loss, I had plastic surgery for skin removal and a breast lift. I even had my eyelids fixed (loose skin). I am proud to tell people I had procedures done after my hard work. I lost weight through consistency, diet and exercise. I had people try to make me feel bad for the surgery or treat me like I cheated. I want people to know there is no wrong way to feel physically and mentally healthy. It’s okay to make changes for yourself; in fact, you should.
My first shoot with Quinn gave me that burst of self-confidence in what I accomplished and the drive to keep going. It was therapeutic, healing a part of me I didn’t know needed to heal. The second shoot reminded me that I am worth celebrating, and I hope to use this energy to empower my family and friends.
What was the best part of your experience? Would you change anything?
The best part of the experience is always hard to narrow down, but the final photo reveal
is so fun. It’s always shocking, in the best way! The way Quinn captures Queens and their beauty is inspiring. I would not change the experience. It’s hard to let someone else be in control, but trusting the process, her expertise and guidance gives beautiful results!
Is there anything extra you would like to tell us?
Thank you for making my experience so amazing! Thank you for empowering women of all shapes and sizes and celebrating our beauty and how unique it truly is.
