Queen Ayla-"Courage Over Fear"

Hey there gorgeous Queens!

There are always a few sessions a year when I hear some version of "I almost didn't book" or "I almost cancelled"; it's so much more common than people realize! We spend so much time waiting until we feel "ready" that we forget confidence usually comes after we do the scary thing, not before. That's why these sessions mean so much to me! Watching someone like the beautiful Queen A decide to stop listening to that little voice that says, "Not yet," and instead say, "Why not now?" is such a privilege! The biggest transformation rarely happens because of the hair, the makeup, or even the photos. It happens because, for a couple of hours, they give themselves permission to stop picking themselves apart! That's what I want every client to leave with, not the feeling that they've become someone new, but the realization that the version of themselves they were waiting to become has been there all along. Sometimes all it takes is seeing yourself through a kinder lens to finally believe it!

Have you ever done a boudoir shoot before? If so, how does your shoot with Quinn compare to your prior experience?

No, I have not.

Why did you do your boudoir shoot?

A year ago, I had a boudoir shoot booked… and I cancelled it. At the time, my body dysmorphia was loud; all I could see were the things I wanted to change, the imperfections I thought everyone else would notice, and I convinced myself I wasn't "ready." Then, I finally did it a year later. And honestly? It was one of the most freeing, empowering, and confidence-building experiences I've ever had!

What was your favourite part of the session?

My favourite part of my boudoir session wasn't just the photos themselves; it was how empowered I felt throughout the entire experience! I walked in feeling nervous and a little uncomfortable, but my photographer had this incredible way of making me smile, laugh, and forget every insecurity I carried in with me. She created such a safe and uplifting space that all of those awkward feelings slowly disappeared.

For a moment, I stopped focusing on the things I normally criticize about myself and started seeing myself through a kinder lens. It wasn't about being perfect; it was about feeling confident, strong, feminine, and comfortable in my own skin!

If you're on the fence about doing a boudoir session, this is your sign. Sometimes the most empowering thing you can do is allow yourself to be seen exactly as you are!!

What did doing this shoot do for your self-confidence, self-worth, and self-image? Tell me your story.

My weight loss journey has taught me that confidence doesn't magically appear when you hit a certain number on the scale. There will always be something your inner critic tries to point out if you let it.

Doing this shoot wasn't about being perfect; it was about celebrating my body, my strength, and everything it has carried me through. I'm so glad I stopped waiting until I felt "good enough," because that day may never come if we keep moving the goalposts! I chose courage over fear, and self-love over self-criticism, and for that, I'm incredibly proud of myself!

Was your experience what you were expecting? If not, how was it different?

No, it was even better!

What was the best part of your experience? Would you change anything?

I wouldn't change anything about my experience!
